TOURISTS are flocking to the Swan Hill region,with families choosing the “heart of the Murray” as their holiday destination according to new tourism figures.
The Swan Hill region, which includes the Gannawarra, Robinvale and Wentworth-Balranald regions, received 385,000 domestic overnight visitors during the 12 months to December 2015, according to Tourism Research Australia’s Murray Region Tourism quarterly research report.
This figure was up 21.5 per cent on the previous year, while visitors stayed for more than one million nights in the region – up by 32 per cent on 2014.
