As the owner and operator of Lake Boga’s very own observatory, John Fowler is well-known around town as the star man.
“I have been interested in the night sky since the age of 19 when I took my first night sky snap with what is called a vintage box brown,” Mr Fowler said.
“That was way back in the early days of taking photographs of the stars on time exposure.”
Mr Fowler has completed a course in celestial navigation — the action of finding one’s way by observing the sun, moon and stars — which allowed him to skipper boats up to 30 metres long.
