Anglers are flooding back to the Murray River after water levels were bolstered in the wake of last week’s natural minor flooding.
A pastime for many of the district’s residents resurfaced after the release from Hume Dam, upstream of Albury, made its way downstream to Barham last Friday, peaking at 5.5 metres yesterday.
Hume Dam, which regulates the Murray River, and re-regulates water discharged from the Snowy Mountains Hydro-electric Scheme, has risen from just 18 per cent full since the start of May to about 83 per cent.
