Family’s generous gift

LOGAN Lodge resident Roy Bull has generously donated his house to Logan Lodge in memory of his wife Shirley.

The 92-year-old said he wanted to give back to everyone that “helped him on the track” over the years.

“The Swan Hill hospital was really good to Shirley,” Mr Bull said.

“In the early days she had a heart attack and her ticker stopped. (She had a defibrillator) and there went her ticker again.

“We all went from tears to smiles.”

Mr Bull was determined to carry out one of his wife’s last wishes in leaving her share of assets to the hospital.

“I am doing this in memory of my wife Shirley,” Mr Bull said.

“It was my wife’s plan… She said to ‘leave my will to the hospital.’

“I did it for her.”

Swan Hill District Health CEO Ted Rayment was touched by Mr Bull’s generous donation.

“One area we do struggle with is finding accommodation for our doctors… there is an increased number of doctors coming to Swan Hill,” Mr Rayment said.

“Mr Bull’s donation of his house will assist finding accommodation…this is a fantastic donation, it means a lot to us.”
