TYNTYNDER and Nyah Nyah West United players will reignite their on-court rivalry tomorrow, a week after their last league clash was abandoned.
Bulldogs coach Hannah Collins went down with a serious knee injury, ending the match.
The score stood at 34-25 in favour of Tyntynder, meaning the Demons now have a lot to prove going into their elimination final on Sunday.
The Bulldogs have remained competitive for most of the year, with only four losses in their campaign, alongside two draws, while the Demons found it hard with nine losses on the board.
Nyah Nyah West United will still come into the match with confidence after beating the Bulldogs back in round 7 46-39, splitting the season series 1-1.
Before the match, injured Tyntynder coach Collins said it would be a tough match, with last week’s result not representative of either side.
“With the situation that happened, you couldn’t say we clearly had won the game but we will go into this one exactly how we did last week and should be okay,” she told The Guardian.
“I am keeping positive and so is the team. We have strong juniors who will be able to replace injured players and we will go in positive and play positive.
“We are just going to focus on what we have practiced all season and keep our heads about us.
“All five teams are very strong contenders, it will be who wins on the day at the end of the year.”
Collins said the Demons were strong “post-to-post” and the defence will need to work as hard as they can to stop the ball from moving too quickly down the court.
“I would also like to thank the Nyah Nyah West United club who showed great sportsmanship during the injury last week … we are very thankful,” Collins said.

Three key takeaways
1- The season series between these sides stands at 1-1, with Tyntynder’s win coming in an unfinished match.
2- The Demons have defended better than the Bulldogs, but Tyntynder will likely be able to outscore the ladies in red and black.
3- Tyntynder drew with Tooleybuc Manangatang, revealing they could be a threat to the top of the table sides in a close contest.
