THE Central Murray Relay for Life is coming up on October 14-15 at Riverside Park.
The overnight event helps raise donations for the Cancer Council’s research, prevention, information and support services, and provides a night of fun activities for people of all ages to enjoy.
This is the 16th year that the event has been held in Swan Hill, with 30 teams already registered to take part in this year’s relay.
The event is a chance for the Central Murray community to recognise and celebrate local cancer survivors, patients and their carers, to honour and remember loved ones lost to cancer and to raise money to help save more lives.
A Candlelight Ceremony will be held on Friday to honour those lost to cancer.
Central Murray Relay for Life chairperson, Rob Johnson, said the event was a great way for people to join together and support those who have ost someone to cancer.
“I’ve been involved with Relay for Life for three years now,” Mr Johnson said.
“I am looking forward to this year’s event and hoping for the best with everyone involved.
“It’s always so great to see so many people wanting to support this great cause,” he said.
