SENIORS in the Loddon Mallee region will now have access to Home Care Packages through Uniting AgeWell.
In an agreement with the Swan Hill Rural City Council, the non-profit senior service provider will provide elderly residents with the care they need to live independently.
This initiative comes after council had opted out of administrating 273 Home Care Packages in July, which prompted the need to find another provider.
Council chief executive John McLinden said the number one priority of council was to ensure aged care packages continued to be delivered.
“Transfer of the packages to Uniting AgeWell ensures the ongoing provision of home care packages to seniors in the Loddon Mallee, and they remain with an organisation that understands the needs of seniors in the region,” he said.
“Uniting AgeWell already provides 70 home care packages, social support and respite and carer support in the Bendigo region.”
