Accused killer, Stacey Edwards has been remanded to re-appear in Mildura next April.
Wearing a grey tracksuit, Ms Edwards, 35, sat quietly inside the Swan Hill Magistrates’ Court as the murder charge was read out.
She will appear for a committal mention on April 18, 2017.
Barrister Anthony Phillips said Ms Edwards had no history of mental health, but would undergo a full mental health evaluation.
She will be transported to Melbourne in the next 24 hours.

A Swan Hill woman, 35, has been charged with murder.
The charges relate to the death of a 32-year-old man at a Makepeace Street address on Tuesday night.
The woman has been remanded to appear at Swan Hill Magistrates’ Court this morning.

VICTORIA Police are yet to lay charges in relation to the alleged stabbing murder of a man in Swan Hill on Tuesday night.
A spokesperson said the Homicide Squad was still interviewing a woman who was arrested at the scene.

VICTORIA Police is investigating the alleged murder of a man in Swan Hill last night.
The Homicide Squad has arrived in Swan Hill to question a woman who was arrested after emergency services were called to a Makepeace Street address just before 8pm.
A man aged in his 30s was transported to hospital in a critical condition where he later died.
Victoria Police media officer Amelia Penhall said it’s believed the parties were known to each other.
A crime scene was set up, with forensics examining and taking photographs of the bloodied scene on the driveway of a block of units.
A towel drenched with blood could be seen on the driveway.
Neighbour Tennisha Crombie, 18, said she arrived home about 9pm to find the crime scene.
“I didn’t think it was a murder but that a crash had happened because they are more common than murders,” she told The Guardian.
“I saw blood on the ground, it was rather freaky.”
Miss Crombie said she didn’t know the pair, but said there were regular fights in the street.
“I’ve heard people throwing stuff and swearing…it’s not the best area,” she said.
“It’s a shock for the street and this just makes it more unsafe. People have died from being burnt and from drug overdoses. It’s not the happiest neighbourhood to live in.”
