Designs for a Japanese garden at Riverside Park will begin early next year with the arrival of a horticulturalist from Swan Hill’s sister city of Yamagata.
The development of the Riverfront Masterplan called for a Japanese garden within the Swan Hill River Precinct.
The garden site was unveiled in July 2015 during the 35th anniversary celebrations of the sister city relationship with Yamagata.
Swan Hill Rural City Council resolved at last week’s meeting to spend $2000 on airfares to bring the horticulturalist to Swan Hill in March-April.
During the visit, a landscape design will be developed.
