Flyers one step away from grand final

THE Flyers need one more win to qualify for the Country Basketball League (CBL) grand final.

Swan Hill responded to their less-than-ideal 2015-16 season with a unexpected rise to the top four; they’ve defeated all but Bendigo and Wodonga.

But just like any fairytale in the making, they now face off against Wodonga Wolves for a chance at history on Sunday.

At the weekend, the ill-disciplined Flyers managed to move onto the next stage of the playoffs with a scrappy win over Shepparton Lady Gators 85-47.

From the outset it was clear the Flyers would dominate the match with a deeper bench and better shot percentage early on.
