Shani’s big race ahead

JUST one year after taking up Speedway racing Shani Cole hasqualifi ed for the Australian Under 21 and Under 16 250cc Kurri Kurri Speedway Titles — the only girl appearing in the race.

With only a handful of female riders across the country, the 16-year-old Swan Hill resident has managed to put herself in the biggest race she can compete in at this stage of her career.

Travelling the country with father Chris, the duo will head to Kurri Kurri, near Newcatle in New South Wales, for the race tomorrow.

Before leaving, Shani said she was looking forward to the race which would test her mettle.
