Alleged sexual assault in Kerang

Police are investigating after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in Kerang earlier this month.

Swan Hill Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Investigation Team said a 30-year-old woman was walking along Park Road between 1am and 2am on Saturday, February 11.

“As she walked under a footbridge which connects with Albert Street she was approached by a man who sexually assaulted her,” Senior Constable Adam West said.

“The victim managed to escape her attacker and returned home.

“During the ordeal the man told the victim that he had just left a hotel in Kerang.”

The offender is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance, unshaven, scruffy in appearance, short and with a solid build.

At the time of the offence he was wearing a baseball cap and denim shorts.

Anyone who has information about the incident or the man’s identity is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
