Tasmanian sightseeing trip

A group of Central Murray Swan Hill Ulysses branch members have revved their engines and set off for a once in a lifetime ride.

The group of motorcycle riders set off yesterday, with their sights set on Tasmania.

They will spend a week on the island, experiencing some of the state’s best roads for cruising.

Ulysses Club member Karen Myers said the group was looking forward to the spontaneity of the ride.

“We will spend seven nights touring Tassie, but have nothing specific planned,” Ms Myers said.

“Each morning we’ll just get up and go.

“The club always goes for a ride every third Sunday of the month, but this is a bit farther than we usually go.”

The group rode to Melbourne yesterday, took the Spirit of Tasmania in the evening and arrived in Devonport this morning.

Ms Myers said she just wanted to enjoy the ride and the experience.

“Tasmania has really good winding roads,” she said.

“We haven’t planned any particular stops, so each day we’ll just work out where we’re going.

“It will be a trip where we want to just enjoy the ride and the scenery.”
