SONIC Speedway will be empty tomorrow after the Swan Hill Speedway cancelled their Street Stock Mallee Masters event.
In a post on their Facebook page, the club announced the event would not go ahead on Tuesday night.
Due to poor numbers from racers, Swan Hill Speedway Club president Ken Higgins said the show could not go on.
“We have stopped the event due to poor nominations in our Street Stock Class,” he said.
“They have a big dollar race in Ballarat next weekend and then there was a race last week which did damage, so we just can’t compete against that and cancelled the event.
“We just can’t get the cars here. The drivers are always going to go the shortest distance for the best prize money.
“It is a shame but if we couldn’t put on the best show we could, we weren’t going to at all.”
The Swan Hill Speedway Club will be back in action on Saturday, March 11.
