Residents in the greater Nyah area were without power for up to five hours early Wednesday morning.
More than 900 customers lost power, with outages in Nyah, Tooleybuc and Wood Wood.
Power was reinstated to all homes by 7.30am.
A Powercor spokesperson said the outage was due to a broken conductor, with the damage possibly caused by a lightning strike during storms in the region.
The spokesperson said another smaller fault occurred later the same morning which could have been caused by a tree touching the line.
“We are grateful for the residents’ patience, storms can be unpredictable,” he said.
Despite the storm, the SES have said the northern region of Victoria had a low incident rate during Tuesday night’s storm.
Peter Patterson, an Operations Officer for the SES, said that they responded to a few incidents of fallen trees due to strong winds.
The SES also responded to a roof leak in Swan Hill as a result of blocked drains, prompting reminders to clear out gutters before winter.
