Lavey to inject colour into Swan Hill

Professional basketball player and former Swan Hill resident Tessa Lavey is this year’s Colour Your Run ambassador.

With the event less than a week away, she encouraged people to sign up for a day of fun, exercise and lots of colour.

“I have never done a colour run, but it has always been on my to do list,” Ms Lavey said.

“An event like this is great because it encourages people to get outside and have fun. There’s no pressure to push yourself too hard.”

Ms Lavey said she was looking forward to returning to Swan Hill.

“I haven’t done a role like this before, but have always wanted to give back to Swan Hill at a community level,” she said.

“To be able to promote the Colour Your Run and all their sponsors is an honour.

“I can’t wait to get out there and get covered in colour.”

Set to celebrate its fourth year, the event will be held at Riverside Park on Sunday, April 9.

All money raised through this year’s event will go towards the Swan Hill Hospice and Swan Hill Has Heart group.

They will then distribute funds to mental health services for young people through the Swan Hill Sunrise Rotary Club.
