Local greyhound trainer Matt Lanigan has trained Zipping Hooch into next Thursday’s group 2 Launching Pad Final at Sandown Park.
A win on Thursday night would bring with it a big pay-day for the Swan Hill trainer with $150,000 on the line for the winner.
Lanigan only began training greyhounds in September and after already training a Group one winner, qualifying for the final ranks among the highest moments in his short career.
“It’s a great thrill to make it through to the final,” he said.
“He [Zipping Hooch] has done everything he needs to qualify for the final and now I just can’t wait for Thursday night.”
