Man escapes injury in truck rollover

UPDATE:

The Murray Valley Highway is closed in both directions between Tresco and Lake Charm as a truck is salvaged following yesterday’s rollover at Lake Charm.

The highway will be closed until 12.30pm.

Signed traffic diversions are in place for northbound traffic at Benjeroop-Lake Charm Road and southbound at Benjeroop-Tresco Road.

EARLIER: 12PM

A transport driver escaped injury when his vehicle overturned on a bend on the northern outskirts of Lake Charm shortly after midday on Wednesday.

The low-loader was carrying a compartment container when the driver lost control while driving in a northerly direction along the Murray Valley Highway.

The impact tipped the trailer completely over and carried the cabin almost onto its roof.

The driver managed to crawl to safety through a window opening. He was examined by paramedics, but was only shaken by the collision.

There is minimal disruption to highway traffic.
