GALLERY | NAIDOC Week launched in Swan Hill

The Aboriginal flag was raised at Mallee District Aboriginal Services on Monday morning before more than 100 people marched to the Swan Hill Rural City Council office for the Wandarrah Street Festival.

NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and achievements and is an opportunity to recognise the contributions that Indigenous Australians make to our country and our society.

Celebrations continue in Swan Hill tomorrow with a youth basketball day, with a barbecue, clinics, competitions, prizes and a youth match against Vic Police and justice workers.

The week will conclude with an elders luncheon on SuniTAFE before ‘Koorioke’ at the Commercial Club on Friday.
