After months of uncertainty, the Swan Hill Pony Club could finally have a new home.
The Lake Boga Sporting Complex was put forward as the preferred site for the relocated equestrian club at last Tuesday’s Swan Hill Rural City Council ordinary meeting.
Previously utilised by the Lake Boga Tennis Club and Junior Football Club, the Lalbert Road site had laid dormant for a number of years.
While the recommendation was passed by councillors, there would be further consultation with the Lake Boga community before the final decision was made.
The club’s president, Corina Farrar, told The Guardian the Lake Boga location would be suitable for the club.
“They have offered it, we have discussed what needs to be done to make it suitable, but we have not been officially notified,” she said.
Ms Farrar said she understood an official offer would follow depending on the reception of the Lake Boga community to the idea.
