Around the Churches

Anglican

THIS week we enjoyed the final services led by our recent locum.

Rev Nick and his wife Ruth have been active participants in church life in both the swan Hill and Kerang parishes, and we have enjoyed their ministry and company. Thank you.

On Sunday we welcome back locum Rev Wayne and Helen Dorning for about four weeks. After Christmas, Rev Wayne will return for a couple of weeks. We appreciate the ministry support for assistant priest Denis and our parish.

Safe Church training day is on Thursday for all people who lead or work in church activities.

Food and drink will be supplied and, as it is to be held in the Anglican function centre in Swan Hill, we encourage you to register rather than completing the training online.

Last week’s boot sale was very successful, both financially and socially. Lots of people came to enjoy the stalls and bargains, plants, furniture and hospitality.

The Christmas boot sale with amazing Christmas raffles will be held close to Christmas.

Grain Shed

AN enormous shout out to all who have been part of Hampers of Hope.

Whether it has been with financial donations or time, coming along this week, helping assemble boxes, unloading, packing our Hampers of Hope and more.

It has been an enormous project for 2023.

“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV.

Grain Shed youth had a wonderful time away on camp at Lake Lascelles last weekend.

A big thank you to all the leaders that gave their weekend to be part of it and all our youth group who took part.

Tonight the youth meet at 7pm and will be serving our community by packing Hamper of Hope boxes that will be distributed to those in need at a later date.

This Sunday, at 10am, Pastor Emily Westblade is on the platform and we look forward to hearing her message. All are welcome and are invited to stay behind afterwards in fellowship with a drink and bite to eat.

The Grain Shed children’s desk is open from 9.45am and what a blast these children get with Linde, Francois and the student leaders.

Note that the Mainly Music program will be held exceptionally on Tuesday 10am instead of Monday.

We apologise for any inconvenience to all the families that come along. December 4 is the Christmas break-up session. Party time with party food and gifts.

Thursday, at 10am, the craft ladies are back. Yes, always with a project and coffee.

With only 31 days until Christmas, get into the spirit here at the Grain Shed and come along to our Grain Shed production, The Nativity Story, on Sunday, December at 10am. All are welcome, and please invite family and friends.

If you would like to know more about what is going on in the Grain Shed, call 5032 9449 or email reception@thegrainshed.org.au.
