Church Notes

Anglican

PARISH life has been busy recently, especially in Swan Hill.

We have hosted and participated in one of several strategic planning days across the diocese, held various meetings such as parish council and Mothers’ Union, and last Saturday the monthly boot sale took place.

This is a great place to grab a bargain, conduct your own trading table, chat with others, or buy food, scones or a barbecued item.

Thank you to the many people who contribute to the work of this monthly event. It is a sociable event as well as raising funds to support ministry and church activities.

The catering team has also been busy. We have provided afternoon tea hospitality following funerals, and this week we hosted lunch and dinner for the participants in a classic car club rally while they were in the Swan Hill area overnight.

Thank you to all the volunteers, including chef Keith Blackman, for enabling these fundraising events that are also enjoyable opportunities to work together.

As Christians, we constantly give thanks for our heavenly Father, but this Sunday we celebrate Father’s Day and give thanks to God for all the fathers, and for other people who take on the role of Dad when needed.

It takes a special person to be a great dad.
