Lights shine on Mallee

PIONEER Settlement’s new laser light show, Legends of the Mallee, was officially launched last Monday night.

The new show brings to life the rich history and stories of the Mallee region.

General manager Jessica Warburton said the team at Pioneer Settlement were delighted to showcase the new experience.

“The combined investment of $750,000 underscores the commitment to preserving and showcasing the unique heritage of the Mallee,” Ms Warburton said.

She said the new show captured the spirit of the Mallee and would complement the Heartbeat of the Murray show.

“Legends of the Mallee is more than just a light show, it’s an immersive journey that pays tribute to the pioneering spirit, cultural heritage, and diverse landscapes that have defined the Mallee region for generations,” she said.

“Through state-of-the-art laser light technology, visitors will be transported back in time to witness pivotal moments and legendary figures who shaped the Mallee’s history.

“The show dives into its dry and dusty nature, the people who make it the place it is both past and present, its war-time connections with the Catalinas and how it thrives today in a modern world – it is sure to impress.”

Heartbeat of the Murray will now run on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday nights and Legends of the Mallee on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

The Victorian Government’s Regional Tourism Investment Fund contibuted $450,000 to the new show and $300,000 from Swan Hill Council.
