6am and 11am: Swan Hill Anzac Day dawn service at the cenotaph at 6am followed by 6.30am breakfast at the Swan Hill RSL Club. $5 donation. 10.30am gather at the corner of McCrae and Culewis streets to march to the cenotaph for 11am service.
3pm-4.30pm: No Gallant Wings book launch by Helen Edwards. Free event but bookings essential via the Flying Boat Museum, Lake Boga. Light snacks and drinks available.
Evening: Live music at Tooleybuc Sporting Club featuring Don Costa.
8.30pm: Live music at Swan Hill Club featuring Drowning Sorrows.
SATURDAY
3pm: Swan Hill Motor Racing Club Sonic Speedway. Wingless Super Series Round Compact Speedcars, JP Asphalting Extreme Sports Sedan Series, VSC Standard Saloons, VSC Formula 500s. Racing from 6pm, please bring cash in case EFTPOS is unavailable.
SUNDAY
8am for 11am: Swan Hill Kart Club. Gates open at 8am. Practice 8.30am-10.30am, racing from 11am. More details at www.swanhillkartclub.com.au.
9am-11am: Nyah Pump Station memorabilia display and information.
10am-2pm: Tyntynder Homestead open to the public. Tours at 11am and 1pm. $5 entry fee.
10am-12.30pm: A Walk in the Park. Fundraise and support activity for Fight Parkinson’s. Sausage sizzle and drinks available. Supported by Swan Hill Hospice Committee.
12.30pm: NDAS group finals at Swan Hill Racecourse Hub. This event will feature regional finals for various agricultural competitions, including a luncheon at 12.30pm. Tickets can be purchase at the show office on Wednesdays between 9am-2pm.
Noon for 12.30pm: Nyah West Golf Club ladies and men’s stableford competition.
2pm: Swan Hill Ukulele Group at Swan Hill Club.
WEDNESDAY
7pm: Join local historian Steve Pentreath for a fascinating guided tour along Campbell Street and discover the stories of Swan Hill during World War II. Meet at the library at 7pm.
ALL WEEKEND
Nyah District Heritage Celebrations. A reunion weekend for the Nyah district, bringing people back into our community, celebrating the heritage of the area, centenary of community groups and buildings. Anzac Day dawn service, community breakfast, home game of football on the Friday. Saturday has street displays, open days for the school, fire brigade, bowling club, vintage machinery and vintage cars. That evening a family night at the Nyah Hall with the Drowning Sorrows will bring everyone together. Sunday will start with an ecumenical church service on the river bank and then move to the Nyah Rec Reserve for a family picnic and children’s games.
