Church Notes

Anglican

THIS week has been a busy week.

A great boot sale last Saturday was followed by a refreshing Holy Communion service on Sunday.

Rev Wayne conducted a worship service at Logan Lodge on Tuesday which was appreciated by faithful residents and staff there.

After the Wednesday Communion service, we held a Biggest Morning Tea in support of the many people we know affected by cancer.

A feast of homemade food was enjoyed by many and we thank the cooks. It was a lovely time of fellowship with a wide group of supporters.

The op shop at Nyah West held a meeting and working bee on Thursday, then on Friday and Saturday clergy and two reps from each parish attended Synod (AGM for the Bendigo Diocese) in Bendigo.

On Sunday, we celebrate Pentecost remembering the giving of the Holy Spirit to the Church.

When the Spirit came, it was a new beginning, so much so that Pentecost has been called the “birthday of the church”.

We receive the Holy Spirit when we accept that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Saviour of our lives and the Holy Spirit empowers us to live Christian lives.

Come and join us.

Grain Shed

YOUTH meet tonight, 7pm to 9pm. All secondary students are welcome.

We look forward to seeing you at our church service on at 10am.

A reminder this is the final service for Pastor La’Mont Ferreira. We have a special morning tea following the service for you to say farewell to La’Mont and Erna before they head off to new adventures in Melbourne.

The children’s sign-in desk is open from 9.45am on Sunday mornings.

Come along to our mainly music interactive program Monday at 10am. This activity is for bubs, toddlers, pre-schoolers with a parent, grandparent or carer.

Craft ladies meet every Thursday at 10am.

If you have a teenager who would enjoy a camp experience, check out the Swan Hill winter camp on the ESA website at www.esa.org.au.
