Debutantes’ dazzling dance moves

SEVEN couples traded athletic wear for dancing shoes, twirling on the dance floor at Swan Hill Football Netball Club’s annual debutante ball last Saturday.

Around 300 people attended the event at the Swan Hill Town Hall to the theme of musical romantic comedy film Mamma Mia.

Organising committee member Lexi Vrolijiks said the debutantes did their community proud.

“The night was really enjoyable,” she said.

“The debs and their partners all did a great job, and we are all very proud of them.”

They danced to a medley of ABBA hits, after being taught by Dance It Up’s Felicity Phelan.

Debutantes attended eight weeks of dance training, giving up their Sundays to ensure they got the more elegant steps right.
