Singers called up to audition

THE Swan Hill Theatre Group is on the lookout for a new cast of talented actors ahead of their upcoming production of The Wedding Singer.

Co-director Emily Smith said the production, which is based on the movie with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore but with all new original songs, was set to be a “very fun and colourful kind of show”.

“Theatre Group is a really great way to make new friends, everyone there is really welcoming, and it’s just a lot of fun to come along each week and sing some songs,” Ms Smith said.

“It doesn’t have to be something that you have done before or anything like that.”

Auditions for the show will be held on Tuesday, February 7 from 6.30pm at the Swan Hill Memorial Hall on McCrae Street.

Those wishing to audition will need to prepare a song to sing, and will be given dialogue on the day by Ms Smith and co-director Cassie Henderson to perform for them.

“There is no sign-ups or anything, so anyone can just come along,” Ms Smith said.

“There is also lots of great little roles for anyone who isn’t confident or if it might be their first time doing something like this.”
