Drugs, car seized

A MAN was remanded in custody after police found a stolen vehicle at a Sea Lake address.

Police made the discovery at the the Best Street property on January 23.

A 32-year-old male was arrested at the address and remanded in custody.

While at the address, police discovered what are believed to be cannabis plants growing in the backyard.

A 51-year-old man was later interviewed in relation to the plants and is expected to attend court at a later date on summons.


Wallet stolen

A MAN has been charged after allegedly stealing a wallet from an unlocked vehicle in Swan Hill.

Police allege the 22-year-old entered the vehicle parked in a driveway of a Byrnes Street address in the early hours of January 29.

A card was then used to pay for fuel.

He was arrested, charged and bailed to appear in court at a later date.


Window smashed

POLICE say it’s lucky no-one was injured when a rock was thrown through a window at a Swan Hill property.

The incident happened at the Pritchard Street address about 4am on January 29.


Fires lit

A SWAN Hill resident was spoken to by police after igniting a fire in their backyard earlier this week.

CFA and police were called to an address in Mundle Avenue, Swan Hill shortly after 9pm on January 28.

A police spokeswoman said a very small fire had been ignited in the rear yard causing a lot of smoke but very little damage.

“The fire was extinguished without incident and is not being treated as suspicious,” she said.

“The occupant was interviewed at the scene in relation to lighting a fire in the open air during a fire danger period.”

Meanwhile, another Swan Hill man was quizzed after he set excess grass alight in his Donnington Street address about 5pm on January 24.

The fire was contained to a drum.


Mobility scooter missing

THIEVES stole a mobility scooter from a Swan Hill address some time last week.

The red scooter was taken from outside the Beveridge Street property some time between January 17 and 24.
