Expert help for oral care

Your oral health. Does it matter?

Good oral and dental hygiene can help prevent bad breath, tooth decay and gum disease – and can help you keep your teeth as you get older. Establishing good oral hygiene and dietary habits have been proven to be essential to achieving and maintaining, overall physical and emotional well-being throughout life.

Who can help you maintain your oral health?

Oral health therapists (combined dental therapists and hygienists) are registered oral health practitioners who provide primary oral health care for children and adults. This includes examining and diagnosing dental decay and gum diseases and providing routine dental treatments.

An oral health therapist plays an integral role in oral health by providing individualised oral hygiene care and treatment to prevent disease of the teeth and gums and help improve general health and wellbeing.

Does it cost more to see an oral health therapist?

No, it doesn’t cost more than seeing your dentist and has the added advantage of seeing being treated by someone whose speciality is your oral health and can take more time to assess and treat your individual needs. There are so many pros, why wouldn’t you see an oral health therapist for your regular check-up and clean?

Your regular Dentist will also be there to see you for the check-up component of the appointment, so you don’t need to worry, they haven’t forgotten you and look forward to seeing you every time you come to visit.
