Grain Shed

Summer holiday time is always quite magical and even more so when we see Swan Hill buzzing with visitors enjoying our beautiful region, holiday makers, tennis and bowls tournaments, those who love their watersports and more.

Let us pray that 2023 continue to bless our region in ways beyond anything we can imagine,

‘The Lord will command the blessing on you in your barns and in all that you undertake. And he will bless you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you’. Deuteronomy 28:8 ESV

Sunday Pastor La’Mont continues with the sermon on Romans chapter 12.

10am our doors are open to all so come along, invite a friend and stay around after in fellowship.

Check out our Grain Shed Church Swan Hill youtube channel and rewatch or catch up on past sermons.

As we are still in a holiday period all of our inhouse activities are on a break. More news will be coming shortly with start up dates.

RECOVERY. This word is at the forefront of conversation across our region and indeed the world at the moment.

It can be applied in a number of ways to different circumstances.

Ideally, it is a return to a normal state of health, mind, strength or regaining possession or control.

It seems to be a perpetual state of being for our region, our nation and the world.

Recovery, of course, is only possible after an event or circumstance that hinders our understanding of what is normal or what is ours to possess in the first place.

One thing that the whole of humanity shares is that there will be times when our sense of normal is challenged, our plans are thwarted and that which we feel we control, really isn’t.

Perhaps we live in a state of recovery more than we realise. We also need to recognise that recovery does not necessarily mean returning to what once was.

With any event that creates upheaval, when the dust settles or the floods dry up, there are changes that occur.

Recovery may mean replacing old for new. This may be physical things, ways of doing or new ways of thinking.

As we move through our experiences, we can gain insight and grow in wisdom.

An essential element of recovery is hope – hope for a future, hope for better days, hope for healing.

This hope comes from deep within each of us, and it is what keeps us moving forward.

In Paul’s letter to the Christian church in Rome, we read that trouble produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame.

In this time of recovery from floods, may hope be our leading light forward.

The Swan Hill Uniting Church is in Beveridge Street. Our congregation meets every Sunday at 10am.

All are welcome to join in Conversations about Life with our small group on Wednesdays at 10am.
