Tuesday, April 26
– Works to deliver drinking water through a pipeline from Swan Hill to Ultima stalled following a permit oversight to install roadside infrastructure on private property.
– COVID-19 mask rules and close contact isolation rules were eased. The eased restrictions came as the peak of the Omicron wave began to subside, with almost 70 per cent of adults having had their third vaccine dose.
Friday, April 29
– Swan Hill Rural City Council noted the findings of the Infrastructure Australia Regional Strengths and Infrastructure Gaps Report. In response to the report, Deputy Mayor Bill Moar said Swan Hill deserved the infrastructure which matched its billions of dollars in agriculture and manufacturing output. “We deserve better health, service, better infrastructure, better roads and better bridges,” he said.
– The State Government announced funding for an upgrade of the war memorial at Ultima, ahead of centenary celebrations in September. The Ultima Progress Association received $15,000 to refurbish and restore the town’s Cenotaph.
