STUDENTS from Son Centre Christan College (SCCC) have been busy donating Christmas trees to aged care facilities in Swan Hill.
A group of students on Monday visited residents at Hope Aged Care to help decorate the Christmas tree they had donated.
SCCC principal Kristy Wilson told The Guardian she was ecstatic the kids could finally enter the facility after COVID.
“Hope invited us down and it was just a fantastic day,” she said.
“We haven’t been able to do that in the past couple of years because of the pandemic, so it was nice to finally be able to engage with the residents.”
Ms Wilson said the kids loved chatting with the residents, especially about Christmas.
“They talked for ages about what they’re doing for Christmas and what they’ve been doing at school, but the students adored hearing what Christmas was like for the residents when they were kids,” she said.
“The residents really enjoyed it as well, I’ve been told.”
Trees were also donated to Alcheringa Aged Care and Logan Lodge, along with one for the Salvation Army.
It was part of SCCC’s Christmas tree fundraiser run each year, with profits going to the Salvation Army.
