A MAN has been charged with armed robbery and remanded in custody after an alleged confrontation with an acquaintance in Sea Lake.

The accused attended a home in Sea Lake about 11pm on December 3, where he was behaving in an offensive and threatening manner.

The following day a warrant was executed at another Sea Lake address.

A 66-year-old male was arrested after handguns and explosives were located at the address.

He was charged with various offences, including armed robbery.

Chainsaw on the back

A MOTORCYCLIST was found carrying a chainsaw in a backpack he was carrying.

Police stopped the rider about 9pm on December 2 after the chainsaw was observed poking out of the backpack.

Officers also located what was believed to be cannabis and a bag containing a crystal like substance.

A man, 41, was arrested, charged and bailed to attend court at a later date.

Search warrants uncover drug offences

THREE separate search warrants have resulted in three people charged with alleged drug offences.

Police executed a warrant at a Swan Hill address on December 1.

A man, 55, was arrested and charged with various drug offences, including trafficking methylamphetamine.

Meanwhile, police executed a warrant in the Nyah West area on the same day.

A man, 37, was arrested and charged with possessing methylamphetamine and possessing a prohibited weapon.

After a third search warrant in Swan Hill, a woman, 35, was arrested.

She was charged with possessing cannabis and methylamphetamine.

All three were bailed to front court at a later date.

A visitor left a mobile phone outside a service station in Sea Lake about 2pm on November 29.

He later found there had been unauthorised transactions on a bank account.

Police were called to an address in Nyah West on December 4 following concerns for a truck found idling.

A man, 42, was spoken to and found in possession of amphetamine and prescription medication for which he did not have a prescription.

They attempted to force entry to the Swan Hill Lawn Tennis Club some time between 6pm on November 28 and 10am the following day.
