HAY heads into the new season with confidence after taking out last year’s premiership in a nailbiter clash against Murrabit.
It was the second consecutive grand final win for the Lions who are eager to make it a hat trick in 2025.
Coach Ellie Jamieson said the side would have a few changes this year with Courtney Mullins, Maddy Villiva and Ruby Hicks coming into the side.
“Courtney brings fitness and speed to our midcourt while Maddy is a versatile player who moves the ball around well and can play both in goals and the midcourt,” Jamieson said.
Returning to the winning formula is Kellie Walker, Maddie Mannes, Hannah Stewart, Sophie Stevens and Jamieson.
Jamieson said the side’s strengths included versatility of player positioning with strong combinations from last year continuing.
With a few new faces in the mix, coupled with experienced players who know how to win premierships, Hay will be a firm favourite to be amongst finals action in September.
