Thieves’ haul found

POLICE believe fleeing thieves were disturbed after items were stolen from a building in Sea Lake were found nearby.

In the early hours of Sunday, offenders gained entry to a building in Horace Street, Sea Lake, and removed various items including drinks, an iPad and whipper snipper.

All of these items were discovered nearby a short time later. It appears the would-be thieves were disturbed.

Arrests over threats

A MAN allegedly threatened occupants of a Swan Hill home earlier this week.

The man attended the Chapman Street address just after midnight.

Police patrolled the area and located a 52-year-old man.

He was arrested, interviewed, charged and bailed to attend court at a later date.

Trailer stolen

OFFENDERS stole an old box trailer from a Tyntynder property earlier this month.

They stole various items from the shed on Tyntynder Central Road some time between September 2 and 5.

Four times the limit

A DRIVER was almost four times over the legal alcohol limit when intercepted by police last Friday.

Highway patrol officers pulled over the 65-year-old driver.

After giving a positive preliminary breath test, his evidentiary breath test indicated a reading of 0.194.

He is expected to appear on summons at a later date.

Legal lesson

POLICE intercepted a speeding learner driver whose passenger didn’t hold a licence.

Culgoa police intercepted the vehicle on the Calder Highway after it was detected travelling at 150km/h

The 32-year-old learner driver was “unaccompanied” as the passenger did not have a licence and that passenger provided a false name.

A preliminary breath test on the driver indicated the presence of alcohol and she refused to accompany police for an evidentiary breath test.

The vehicle was impounded.
