THE Gallery in Balranald is now presenting an exciting new exhibition by emerging Wentworth artist Jasmine Rose.
Entitled Outback Inspiration, the exhibition is inspired by the environment and the artist’s love of capturing complex details of nature’s visual aesthetics.
“I have quite a diverse medium usage, so from oil paintings, encaustic paintings, metalwork, wirework – a lot of different lots of inspiration from the surrounding outback environments,” Ms Rose said.
Ms Rose said it was just a bit of a random coincidence that she will be displaying her work in Balranald for her first solo exhibition, almost stumbling across The Gallery on her way to Sydney.
“I came across this beautiful little space, and from there Jan (Lawler) and I were talking about possibly putting work in,” she said.
Ms Rose, originally from the Macedon Ranges, now lives on a Wentworth Shire property called Wompinni Station, about three-and-a-half hours from Balranald.
Rose has just set up a private art gallery on the station, where people can go to view her work, as well as having B&Bs and shower and toilet facilities.
“We are right on the river, so it is a really beautiful spot,” Ms Rose said.
All Ms Rose’s works in the exhibit will be for sale.
Outback Inspiration will be on display at The Gallery Balranald until October 3.
