RACECOURSE

THE winners of Jackpot bowls on Wednesday, July 20 were Graeme Bennett and Max Parsons, with two wins and +15 shots, while the runners-up, with one win and +6 shots were Dick Vandenberg and Max Renney.

On Sunday, July 24, Arthur Threadgold, Kevin Vivian and Barb Davies (Lake Boga) were the only three-game winners. Runners-up on the day were Don Poulton, Kaye Roberts and Max Parsons (Lake Boga).

On Wednesday, July 27, it was Norm Smith, Ian Lockhart and Marg Smith who were the big winners with two wins and +29 shots, ahead of Arthur Threadgold, Jim Wilcox and Peter Hooper with one win and +10 shots.

Tonight, we have our casserole tea, double members’ draw and plenty of raffles – we also have one lucky member who, if present, will win their membership free for the following year.

We will be playing Jack Attack bowls this Sunday and on Sunday, August 7, we have our Autobarn Triples, starting at 12.30pm.

LAKE BOGA

SATURDAY, July 23 was a great day for Jackpot Bowls at Lake Boga, with winners for the day being Lyndal Taylor, Phil Parry and Norm Smith, with the runners-up being Shirley Swan and Graham Bennett.

The Lucky Draws were taken out by Shirley Swan, Bob Macintosh, Vicky O’Bree, Phil Parry and Terry Haw, while the Last Man Standing was won by Garry Cowland. Saturday, July 30, the Pelican Jackpot will be $216.00.

In Wednesday social bowls on July 27, the winners were Robyn Jolly, Basil McDonald and David Condy, while runners-up were Les Grey, Leigh Kingsbury and Mick Tempini. We celebrated our members who had birthdays in June and July, with a happy birthday to Ivan Decker, John McCormack, David Condy, Terry Haw, Kath Clifford, Greg Davis, Gary Cowland and Ray Leach.

Everyone’s welcome to come and have a game of Bowls this Saturday, July 31 for our jackpot bowls and Wednesday, August 3 for social bowls, with names to be in by 12.30pm to start play by 1.00pm.
