SWAN HILL
Swan Hill Bowls Club’s annual meeting was held on Monday, May 30th and was well supported by members. Chairperson Brian Richardson gave a report on the club’s activities for the 2021-22 season and praised members for their co-operation and support during the difficulties of COVID-19. The club succeeded in having both Saturday and Midweek pennant teams both reach the Grand Final. Unfortunately, both missed out on the prized trophy, but it was a rewarding season nonetheless.
Office Bearers for the 2022-23 season are: President – Brian Richardson, Secretary – Bill King, Vice President – Mick Balchin, Treasurer – Robin Poole. All have been re-elected for a second term.
Sister-in-laws Lynda King and Norma Scott were presented with life memberships, in recognition of a combined 53 years of service and support to the Swan Hill Bowls Club.
The weather recently has not been very inviting to entice bowlers to take to the greens, however, some turned out for our Friday Frolic and a few on Wednesday for social bowls. Both are only short games, so as not to finish too late.
Please note that Social Bowls now starts at 1pm, with names to be in by 12.30pm.
Friday Frolic will be on today, with names entered by 2.30pm for a 3.00pm start. All players have the chance of winning the jackpot – stay around to enjoy some hot nibbles, a social drink or cuppa in the clubhouse and try your luck at winning a prize in the raffle.
Memberships are now due for the coming season and may be paid at the bar or to the Secretary or Treasurer.

The club has a bowls’ meeting on Monday, June 27 at 10am. The meeting is to select the Bowls’ President, club selectors, match committee and social committee. There is also a need for the members to give the club support for our synthetic green and shed.
The club will supply morning tea after the meeting.
