THE Swan Hill men’s soccer team will be looking to continue their unbeaten start to 2022 when they host the Moama-Echuca Border Raiders – with all three Swan Hill SC teams to play at the Ken Harrison Reserve at the weekend.
Both Swan Hill and Moama-Echuca met back in the opening game of the season, with Swan Hill recording an impressive 9-0 win on that occasion – however, it’s expected the Border Raiders will provide much tougher opposition this time around with a number of key players back in their line-up.
The Swans however have taken all before them thus far – highlighted by their 3-0 win over the previously unbeaten Deniliquin Wanderers last weekend. After a tight first half which saw the score deadlocked at nil all at the break – Swan Hill then exploded, scoring all three goals within the first 15 minutes of the second half, thanks to Conner Brown, Ethan Fox and Santhosh Gunasekaran.
The under-16s boys’ team will also play against the Moama-Echuca Border Raiders in a curtain raiser to the men, with the Swans looking to record their second win of the season. While coming off a heavy loss to Epsom last weekend, there were still plenty of encouraging signs for the young Swan Hill team – especially considering it was just their fourth game as a group.
The Swan Hill women’s team will also be at home this weekend and will take on Tatura SC on Sunday afternoon from 12pm – with the Swans still searching for their first win of the season.
