Managing medications with online scripts

MARRABOOR pharmacist Jarred Kiel is keen to get community members across managing medications online.

While patients are always welcome to drop in and get in-person advice, Mr Kiel said the MedAdvisor set-up can make the process of managing your health more convenient.

Mr Kiel explained that this useful tool is ready to use on any device, from mobile phones to tablets, PCs to notebooks.

MedAdvisor has been designed using state-of-the-art internet and mobile phone technology to provide you with a tool to support you taking your medications safely, effectively and on-time.

You can download the application on the Apple App Store, on Google Play for Android appliances, or you can access the site from a web browser.

MedAdvisor’s home screen provides an

automatic list of all your prescription medications, updated whenever you fill scripts so you can see information like how many repeats you have left and more medication specific details, as well as script history.

The site automatically reminds you when you fill your recurring scripts and chases you up if you forget. It also reminds you when you need to visit your doctor for replacement prescriptions.

With the Apple or Android apps, you can also organise for reminders so you remember to take the appropriate medications at the right time of day, keeping you in the best possible health.

The app allows you to easily learn more about the medications you are taking, and tap-to-refill to have your prescriptions dispensed in advance so when you arrive at the pharmacy you can collect them immediately – which means no wait time!

There is also a carer mode for this tool, allowing you to manage medications for children or elderly parents for example.

Virtual pharmacist Phil also lives on the home screens and prompts you with personalised reminders and tips.

It’s tough to beat any of the fantastic Marraboor staff, but having some virtual expertise in the palm of your hand is great for when you can’t make it into town.

MedAdvisor also provides one-tap access to the details of your favourite pharmacy,

including phone number, email, opening hours and map location, helping you keep in touch with your trusted in-person team.
