Market crowds not a pre-COVID levels

SWAN Hill Rotary Club held its Easter Community Market on Sunday at the railway station.

While not quite back at its full capacity yet, former club president and current member Ernie Russell said it was still a good day overall.

“It was quite successful as markets have been, but we still require more stall holders,” Mr Russell said.

Mr Russell said there were about 20 stallholders for the market selling bric-a-brac, plants, produce, assorted goods, books, craft, clothes and local produce, with around 300 customers attending throughout the day.

“Before COVID, we would expect the markets to be twice as busy as it was this year,” Mr Russell said.

“We’re happy that we are back into marketing, but we are not happy with the crowds at this point in time.”

The Rotary market is held on the third Sunday of every month, with the next one scheduled for May 15.
