I WOULD like to extend my thanks to the Swan Hill Harmony Day committee and all of the people who volunteered to make the event such a success.
Each year this event is getting bigger and better, with so much to see, do and eat – it is such fantastic acknowledgement of our region’s cultural diversity.
Hard Quiz appearance and street parade
IT’S no secret that I love a good game show. Not just watching them, but appearing on them, so it should come as no surprise that I recently appeared on my fifth (yes, fifth) game show, Hard Quiz on the ABC.
I am keeping my end of the bargain and will hold a street parade to celebrate.
Tomorrow, from 10am to noon, I will be doing a walk through Caix Square – so for those wanting to get up close and personal to the big brass mug – I can’t wait to see you.
If you’re in Swan Hill, the big brass mug shall be on display after the street parade at Kennedy’s Showcase Jewellers, because Mum said I could.
Robinvale Easter festival
THE Robinvale Easter Festival is back again this year and guaranteed to fun for all of the family.
Come along to the Robinvale Community Arts Centre on Saturday, April 16, from 4pm to 8pm.
There will be a free kids’ Easter egg hunt, food trucks and stall, live music and an outdoor cinema screening from 8pm.
Council gender equality plan
COUNCIL has been busy preparing a gender equality action plan over a number of months.
The plan will assist the council to plan, implement and measure change in order to achieve workplace gender equality.
I am very pleased to say it was been developed with meaningful consultation and input from women and men from right across the council organisation.
This plan will ensure that we attract, develop and retain an inclusive, high-performing and engaged workforce that will continue to deliver outstanding services to our community.
School holiday fun
IF you are looking for some fun these school holidays, don’t forget to check out what is on in your local area.
Each school holidays the Swan Hill and Robinvale libraries and the Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery put together a fun program of activities to keep the whole family entertained.
Activities range from smoothie bike fun in Robinvale to art, craft, story times dancing and Sphero fun. If you are looking for something really adventurous, head along to the Swan Hill Town Hall Performing Arts and Conference Centre for Don’t Mess with the Dummies on Sunday, April 24.
