SES weighs in with local data on air quality

SWAN Hill residents will now have access to 24-hour local air quality information thanks to a collaboration between VICSES and the Environment Protection Authority (EPA).

Swan Hill SES unit has been given portable equipment that can be set up at any location, including around fires and dust storms, to monitor air quality.

Information that is collected is available online and is used to help provide targeted information for the community and can be accessed at epa.vic.gov.au/for-community/airwatch.

SES members Rob Merrett and Jodie Preston have both undergone training to use the device, which is solar powered and has battery life that lasts up to seven days.
