MURRAY DOWNS LADIES

A TOTAL of 88 ladies competed in the annual Fay Ayson Memorial Golf Day at Murray Downs on Wednesday, the event was sponsored by Kennedy’s Jewellers and additional prizes provided by the Ayson family at Home Coach.

The course was awash with golfers decked out in various shades of pink and raised over $2000 for the Swan Hill Health Cancer Wellness Centre, this amount consisted of all green fees, competition fees and raffle proceeds.

Teams of four with the best three stableford scores to count was on the agenda and the winning team was Sue Davis, Kristy Gordon, Joan Foster and Jan McLean on 123 points.

They finished just ahead of Jill Brown, Deryn Pinney, Jo Williams and Libby Millar on 120 points.

A pink ball novelty competition was played in conjunction alongside the main event and this was won by Val Hedwards, Anne Webb, Glenda Coulter and Barb Cadd on 32 points on a count back from Judi Benbow, Tina King, Laurel Dewhurst and Jenny Lynas.

Kristy Gordon, Judy McMahon, Julie Overall and Chris Warburton took out the nearest the pin prizes.

Captain Mag Kiley (16) was the winner of Saturday’s Stableford comp on 37 points, the next best was Phasinee Chaiyasit (23) on 36 points.

Maralyn Morrison and Sue Davis led the ball count down on 35 points apiece and Claris Bourne, Sue Davis, Laurel Dewhurst and Kathy Parkinson were rewarded for the most accurate shots to the par 3’s.

Single figure golfer, Jo Watts (9) led a small Sunday field on 1 down.

TOOLEYBUC LADIES

Wednesday was our Stableford Event and played in great company.

Winner was Bev Beasy.

Runner-up was Ros Jennings.

Nearest the Pin – 1/10 Jill Coburn – 5/14 Ros Jennings.

Nutrien Balls – Lisa Zanker.

Balls Down the Line – Ros Jennings.
