Driver airlifted after Lake Charm crash

A DRIVER was airlifted to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious condition on Friday night following a collision south of Lake Charm between a sedan and a double truck.

Senior sergeant Michelle Kerley said police believed the patient’s sedan veered to the wrong side of the road where it impacted first the A trailer and then the B trailer of the truck.

“The sedan driver was trapped for some time and then airlifted in a serious condition,” she said.

A passenger in the sedan was taken to Swan Hill hospital while the truck driver was uninjured.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
