Around the Churches February 4

ANGLICAN

THE Anglican Parish family really celebrated being together last Sunday, meeting together at the Ultima Hall for a combined service.

Of the 32 attending, many brought lunch to stay on and spend quality time with one another.

It appears that there are more opportunities ahead to enjoy gathering as long as COVID safeguards are followed.

Four weeks from today, on Friday, March 4 at 10am, the annual World Day of Prayer is, of course, to be held worldwide.

The service for 2022 has been prepared by the people of UK, England, Wales and Northern Ireland (Scotland arranges its own celebration).

One service will be held at Nyah West Uniting Church at 10.30am and in Swan Hill at 10am in the Anglican Christ Church on Splatt Street.

Admission is free, 60 people are permitted and are welcome to refreshments following the service, open to everyone.

A free will offering will be collected before closing.

On Sunday, March 6 the Parish AGM will follow the Sunday 9.30am service.

Reports should be sent to the office next week for printing and distributing earlier so that people may bring ideas and questions on the day.

The “Church” is its people, and without your presence an empty building is just that: it is no longer a place of community worship.

Reflect on the ‘Faithful Departed’ who shared their Christian beliefs in this district of Swan Hill, especially in the Anglican All Saints Church at Nyah West.

Its centenary service will be held in June this year.

Date to be arranged with Bishop Matt of Bendigo Diocese.

GRAIN SHED

SCHOOL is back and routine really kicks back in.

Be encouraged to pray for our youth and families in the community and region, schools, day care, universities, teachers, assistants, chaplains, leaders in extra scolaire activities and all those who are involved in one way or another with them.

‘Beware that you don’t look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels are always in the presence of my heavenly Father.’ Matthew 18:10 NLT

This Sunday at 10am we welcome all, regulars, locals, visitors to join us as Pastor La’Mont finishes the series Awesome Power of Vision with Freedom from Offense.

Stay around after the service with a cuppa and some good fellowship.

It was so lovely to see so many children at Grainshed kids last week having fun. Our Grainshed kids’ desk is open for all two and over. If your children aren’t registered, it isn’t too late, so please come along.

Apologies from our mainly music team as the start date has been postponed from this coming Monday to Monday, February 14 due to unforeseen circumstances.

At 9.15am, the check-in desk will be open for registrations with the session starting at 9.30 until 11am.

Craft ladies meet 10am on Thursdays.

Save the date: Vision Sunday service at 10am on February 20.
