Balranald Australia Day schedule announced

THE Balranald Australia Day celebrations schedule has been released with plenty of activities announced for those looking to reflect, respect and celebrate the day.

The traditional awards ceremony will take place from 8am to 11am at Greenham Park with activities organised including breakfast, the Ambassador’s speech as well as live performances from Ron Murray, Kinja, dancers as well as the Fijian Choir.

The Ambassador this year is Jay Allen OAM, Jay is a melanoma survivor and dedicates his life to raising awareness and funds to find a cure to melanoma, which is the most common form of cancer to impact young Australians.

In the afternoon, there will be a family fun activity held at the Balranald Swimming Pool with music, laser tag, jumping castles, swimming activities, games, food stalls plus plenty more on offer to entertain young and old.

The Balranald Australia Day committee has been extremely busy organising the activities held across the two events with organisers keeping their fingers crossed that the events will be able to go ahead.

COVID safety guidelines will be adhered to, and in these times of uncertainty the events are subject to change, with similar events planned in Swan Hill recently being cancelled due to the increased risk of COVID.
