Moulamein Notes with China Gibson December 17

Mallan Christmas Party

THIS great annual event is back on again this year.

It will be held on Monday December 20 at Mallan, of course.

The night kicks off at 5.30pm.

The cost is $15 for a single and $30 for a family to cover the cost of the BBQ.

Could you bring a salad to share as well as BYO drinks?

There will be the usual tennis match and plenty of other fun.

The big feller in red will make an appearance, so the kids will be happy.

For more information, please ring Ben on 0429 863 225.

Moulamein Men’s Shed has been busy

OUR Moulamein Men’s Shed has been busy again this week and have resurrected the Howard Park sign in our main street.

Well done to our Men’s Shed, they do a lot of work behind the scenes.

In the photo there is Clarry De Travers, Noal Sutton and Colin Adams.

Allan Fielding was behind the camera – well done fellers.

The Grinch Of Xmas

THAT is how I feel every year when I change the locks on our great Moulamein Lake.

It has to happen every year because we need the income to pump the water to keep our town lake full as we can get it.

If we do not change the locks, some people are a bit slack in paying for this great thing that we have in Moulamein.

Due to the generosity of our Moulamein Men’s Shed this year, we don’t have to buy new locks and the same key can be used for both ramps.

Membership is now due for the Moulamein Lake – you can swim, fish off the bank, or paddle a canoe in it for free, but anything with a motor on the water needs a membership.

A small cost compared to running a boat, at $150 a year or $20 a day.

Cheap at half the price, if you come over here during the week.

Please pay your memberships, I already have enough grey hairs without one more thing to chase up.

Crippled sheep run

OUR Moulamein Football Netball Club has found a way to make use of those crippled sheep that we all have and put up with, thinking that they will come good.

But they never do and they make you bugger all for the feed that they eat.

Look after your good sheep and get rid of the average sheep and give our Club a few bucks.

To join the Cripple Run, ring Nicko on 0457 137 612.

Pennant bowls

TWO teams at home for the last game of the season has to be worth a look if you have a bit of spare time this Saturday.

Come over and cheer our two teams on.

It is going to be hot, and the air conditioners and beer is cold at our Moulamein Bowling Club.

We also have our Christmas party after the bowls, so let’s make a night of it.
