Book launch ahoy for Susea Spray

THE Swan Hill Regional Library will host a book launch on Saturday, the latest chapter by award-winning author Susea Spray.

A Day on the Brine, the highly anticipated sequel to A Big Blue Boat, will be launched at the library at 10.30am.

Readers got an exclusive sneak peek at the Robinvale library yesterday.

“We are thrilled that Susea Spray has chosen to launch A Day on the Brine at the Swan Hill library and offer an exclusive sneak peek to the Robinvale community,” said Swan Hill Regional Libraries manager Camille Cullinan.

Spray, a retired teacher living on a large blue sailing boat, discovered her writing voice for children after she began her sailing adventure in 2013.

“Her first book, A Big Blue Boat, captivated audiences both young and old,” Ms Cullinan said. “We eagerly await the next adventure she will take us on in her new book.”

A Day on the Brine follows the adventures of a sailor who loves to explore the sea.

“Readers of all ages will be treated to a rhythmic and engaging narrative that transports them to the wonders of life on the water,” Ms Cullinan said.

“The talented Emma Stuart has illustrated the story, and through her vibrant illustrations, Susea’s words are brought to life.

“They make a transformative duo.”

Ms Cullinan said this will be Spray’s second visit to the region.

“Susea will share her new book with the audience,” she said. “Participants will also have the opportunity to sing songs and engage in craft activities with her.”

A Day on the Brine will be on sale at both events. Spaces are filling fast. Call the Swan Hill library to secure a seat.
