POLICE have arrested a man over an alleged serious assault in Swan Hill last month.
Swan Hill detectives travelled to Wakool in New South Wales on July 8, with the assistance of NSW Police, and arrested a 34-year-old male over an assault on two men, aged 33 and 17.
The alleged incident happened in the early hours of June 29 near the Swan Hill bridge on McCallum Street. The accused was taken to Albury Magistrates’ Court and extradited back to Victoria and remanded into custody at Wodonga to appear in court a later date.
He was charged with recklessly cause serious injury and other assault-related charges.
The 33-year-old victim received significant injuries. He required treatment at a Melbourne hospital.
